Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Audit Now uses, and how you can control them under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. We also use local storage, which works in a similar way. Some are needed for the site to work; others are optional and only set if you agree.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are always on because the service cannot work without them. They are exempt from consent under PECR.
- Authentication session (set by our authentication provider) — keeps you signed in. Expires when your session ends or after token expiry.
- Cookie consent preference — remembers your choice on this banner so we do not ask again. Stored for 12 months.
- Security and load balancing — set by our hosting and CDN provider to protect against abuse.
3. Analytics cookies (optional)
If you select "Accept all" we load Google Analytics (GA4), which sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to measure how many people visit, which pages they use and how they arrived. These cookies typically last up to 24 months. If you reject them, Google Analytics is never loaded and any existing analytics cookies are cleared.
4. Payments
When you open the checkout, Stripe may set cookies necessary to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. These load only when you start a checkout.
5. Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the button below or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies are needed for sign-in to work.
